The Water Resources Development Division 1 has the following duties and powers:
(1) Study, assess potential and analyze suitability of projects, determine criteria, format and establish a control network system and implement construction projects.
The development, management, improvement, and maintenance of water resources and water distribution systems under our responsibility.
(2) Monitor and evaluate the performance of construction projects for the development and maintenance of water resources.
(3) Provide technical and academic support and advice on the development and maintenance of water resources to government agencies and local administrative organizations.
(4) Develop and compile standards, specifications, guidelines and manuals for the development and management of water resources.
(5) Work with or support the operations of other relevant agencies or as assigned by the Director-General.
